Apple’s legal letter to Galaxy Nexus retailers

Rene Ritchie posted a copy of the letter Apple lawyers were sending to retailers selling the Galaxy Nexus this week.

DEMAND is rather strong language. The letter doesn’t actually say ‘you must stop selling this item immediately or suffer the consequences’ etc. It informs them of the ruling and the language of the order and the lawyers belief that said party is included and should stop selling the item in question. Period. The resellers can take this under advisement and stop or not. It’s their call what they do.

Given that apparently Samsung didn’t bother to tell the retailers the language of the ruling which could mean they are under the order to stop and not doing so could be contempt of court, it’s rather nice of Apple to pick up that slack rather than just watching for someone to screw up and get in trouble for it.
