Who wrote this shit?

    Pretty funny, for a billionaire.

Is it just me or is it a little bit questionable for Bloomberg to be yukking it up, promoting a hot dog-eating contest while carrying on his campaign against the consumption of beverages he considers out-sized?

Events like the contest remain an effective way to drum up tourism for an area of Brooklyn that can certainly use the business.

Personally, I’d much rather eat processed meat products than guzzle a quart of high-fructose corn syrup.

As would I, but more important to me is the freedom to do either, at my discretion.

You could do that even with Bloomberg’s law. Studies show that people eat more if they’re offered more. A law that forces companies to not offer huge meals actually has a positive effect on public health, and prevents nobody from going for a refill or just taking two cups, if they really absolutely need to become fat (perhaps if they’re method actors or something).
