Glenn Fleishman reviews the new AirPort Express

Sounds to me like this is a no-brainer purchase.

I wonder if this little puck is better than my Airport Extreme from 3 years ago…

The old Airport Express had no cord. The new one does. At least I think it does. I have yet to see a photo of the device plugged in. The no cord part was/is very attractive to me.

I already have the previous Airport Express. I’ve been thinking about upgrading to the Extreme, though, and I think I’ll wait until there’s an Extreme with 802.11ac. The difference between the Extreme and Express is now so small they’re almost bound to do that upgrade.

@davebarnes: Yes, the new one has a cord. Form factor is exactly like the Apple TV, but it’s in white and has a slightly different ports complement. Same style of power cord, though.
