iCloud push email

I received an email from a reader today about push email being broken on iCloud. I was sure he was wrong, but when I sent myself an email to my Cloud address, it arrived immediately on my Mac, but didn’t arrive on my iPhone until I opened the Mail app. Weird 1.

It’s not a new issue though. People have had intermittent problems from at least last October.

  1. I have no idea when this started for me.

I have had this problem intermittently with iCloud, and even back with MobileMe. The problem seems more prominent if I don’t restart my phone every day. I have gotten in the habit of restarting my iPhone every night when I go to bed. It’s pretty annoying.

Restarting used to work for me to resolve the issue, but over the last few weeks it hasn’t made a difference.

Up until now, I thought it was just me :)

Huh. I’m sure there’s just something wrong with the service right now. iCloud Mail push is offline in Germany because Apple lost a lawsuit to Googlorola, but I don’t see how that’d affect the U.S. and Canada. Or did I miss something?

I have that same problem with Reading List not syncing between the phone and my Mac

It’s been happening to me the last few days — both iPhone and iPad.

Once in a while it happens to me. But normally to works fine after a little while. It’s a very irritating small bug what makes you always doubt about the service.

Gang, this is a 40-page plus issue in the Apple Discussion forums.  It’s a BIG problem…has been for a long time.

I’ve found this issue to be intermittent in my case between my 3GS and my iPad 2. The 3GS is the one that usually has problems while my iPad rarely has any delays in receiving push email. But again, it’s not always the case. Some days I get email notifications to my iOS devices before it shows up on my Mac.

I’ve noticed that I do get the push notification on my iPhone but if Mail on the Mac is open the notification disappears! I’ve seen it happen just now.

It seems to be working like notification for Messages, where one device knows if another has open what is related to that notification.

If that is the case I like it.

Push works on my iPad just fine.

I have had this issue on my iPhone off and on since iCloud mail started. Only on my iPhone not on my iPad2 or my Mac mini.

quite frankly, i’m not surprised you didn’t notice.

Jim, any update?  it is still happening to me.

    Me too.
