Samsung not worried about Apple making a TV

“TVs are ultimately about picture quality. Ultimately. How smart they are…great, but let’s face it that’s a secondary consideration. The ultimate is about picture quality and there is no way that anyone, new or old, can come along this year or next year and beat us on picture quality. “So, from that perspective, it’s not a great concern but it remains to be seen what they’re going to come out with, if anything.”

Seems a lot like what RIM said about the iPhone in 2007.

    Since the Apple TV is nothing more than a pipe dream at this point, I can’t say I disagree with them. Once it is announced, the features shared with the world, and IF they are a “disruptor” to the industry, THEN I’ll laugh at comments such as Samsung made above.

    4K Apple TV would be SWEET! 

    Apple doesn’t have to beat them on picture quality just match it while Tim makes the supply chain his bitch as per usual.

    I think there’s a lot more to this rumor– internet content distribution is established enough now that Apple can be the only game in town with a new format like 4K. More here:
