I am pretty sure people commenting on how he thinks he’ll be the the next Steve Jobs will not actually make it happen so I don’t see how anyone is winning here. He already has all the fame he could want. It’s not like a few posters on loopinsight and others is going to change anything. So what, exactly, has he won?
He wins your attention. He is a moron. But there aren’t many who don’t already know that. He is a hip hop artist and name one who hasn’t tried to liken themselves to someone prominent. You guys are surprised and disgusted by the same stunts and antics he has always been known for.

He needs to prove he’s the next Steve Jobs by not bathing for the next 6 months, eating only carrots, and
I certainly don’t want to try to convince you – we all know how futile that is on the internet, especially in comments 🙂 – but, a casual skim of the wikipedia pages for his personal discography and his discography as a producer, when seen in the light of record sales, collaborations and chart positions can only be seen as complete market domination. It’s hard for me to understand how you could downplay his importance to music over the last 10 years. Maybe you don’t see that as translating to lasting significance, but I can’t imagine why.
I was having a discussion with my wife the other day about how people see the stars of whatever genre or subgenre they’re a fan of as some kind of world-spanning colossi, and fail to recognize their overall significance to the culture at large. The example I used was Pavement. They’re considered by many Indie rock fans to be this giant, important, influential band. And they are – in the context of Indie rock. But Kanye’s least-selling album is on track to double sales of all of Pavement’s albums combined. While we can argue to what extent album sales translate to significance (under the rubric of the Big Star/Rebecca Black Continuum), that’s just an awful lot of people listening to his music. Combine that with Kanye’s collaborations both as a rapper and a producer, and especially his work with Jay-Z, and you have a man who is possibly the most influential artist in the most culturally significant musical genre of the 21st century.
And that’s before we get to how he made Taylor Swift a star. 🙂

There is a difference between saying what you think and blatantly disrespecting others for something they aspire to do. This post is unconscionable and, unfortunately, a clear demonstration of the latter.
What a terrible, childish response. Taylor Swift has her own damn skillset that you are clearly unaware of too. Just because someone’s on Billboard charts doesn’t mean they’re less deserving or otherwise intelligent.
This is not “thinking”; this is flat out insulting someone for having a dream — someone who has the financial and social connections to truly make good on what he is saying.His mother was his lifeblood and her death was incredibly hard on him. Naming a company after her that he didn’t fully intend to see through would be naive.
The best part about all of this is that Jobs himself would be gung-ho that someone with such influence wanted to jump into such an endeavor, that he held design and user experience in such high regards and wanted to pool his resources together for the benefit of humanity.

Sorry but it doesn’t really change how off what he was is if you look at it as a bullet list of tweets versus an interview.
The thing with Kanye that people who haven’t bothered to read any interviews with him don’t understand is that as a performer he is intentionally obnoxious. He is intentionally this arrogant douchebag that he knows will rile people up.
He was producing for years and no one took him seriously as an artist because he didn’t have the “swagger”, the attitude, the traits they thought defined hip hop. He created this character people assume is actually him, and he fluctuates between that character and himself on Twitter, which is what confuses people.
There are far more shallow and heartless creatures in entertainment that make themselves out to be something they’re not and genuinely believe themselves to be that person, so why Kanye always gets a bad rap is beyond me. He’s a well-intentioned dude with proven success.
It takes a few seconds of Googlefu to figure that out, but instead some people would rather take something out of context for their own circlejerking.
