Apple’s Jonathan Ive awarded knighthood

BBC:

Jonathan Ive, Apple’s head of design, has been awarded a knighthood in the New Year Honours list.

Mr Ive, who can now style himself Sir Jonathan, has been made a Knight Commander of the British Empire (KBE).

Very nice, congrats to Jonathan.

    I look forward to Apple’s industrial design haters being cleaved with a longsword.

      Meh. Long swords are so 18th century.

      In the end, all I have to say to Jonny Ive besides “Congrats!” is:
      “Imma really happy for you but Patrick Stewart had the the best knighting ceremony of all time!”

    As much as I adore Apple products myself, this is just ridiculous. So they make “industrial designers” Knights these days? Jesus, what has the world come to.

    • His Shadow

      You are kidding, right? They knighted a member of the Rolling Stones. Richard Branson was knighted for his work as an entrepeneur. Get on board with the 21st Century.

      Just what sort of grubbing envious fool are you? And what are YOUR accomplishments that are anywhere NEAR those of Sir Jonathan Ive?

    An excellent and well-deserved honour for an Englishman yet in the prime of his life and career!

    “. . .The Muses, still with freedom found,
    Shall to thy happy coast repair;
    Blest Isle! With matchless beauty crown’d,
    And manly hearts to guard the fair.
    “Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
    “Britons never will be slaves.”
