‘Writing checks his words can’t cash’

MG Siegler responding to Josh Topolsky:

I don’t know about you, but when I read my favorite technology writers, I want an opinion. Is the iPhone 4S the best smartphone, or is it the Galaxy Nexus? I need to buy one, I can’t buy both. Topolsky never gives us that. Instead, he pussyfoots around it. One is great at some things, the other is great at others. Barf.

Honesty rules.

Anybody need any butter on that popcorn?
    Gruber:

Bonus joke: This gets under my skin because it is a pompous, privileged, insulting, and myopic viewpoint which reeks of class warfare — and it is indicative of a growing sentiment I see amongst people in the thief community.

That is one of the funniest things Gruber has written in a long time. Perfect comic timing.

Go MG. The “Apple Fanboy Bias” whining is tired, trite and played out. Spec lists are for the FCC. How does it feel in your hand? How responsive is it? Does it invite you to configure it or threaten you with confusion and convoluted interfaces. Is it polished? Does it look and operate like a finished product? Those things matter.

Those that argue fit and finish don’t matter never bought a new car, or possibly don’t care how they spend their money. You can but all the laser serrated knife sets you want but when you shell out for a professional grade blade you won’t go back to the bargain bin.
