Defining what a journalist is has become more difficult in the last decade. Mathew Ingram at GigaOM takes a look at the challenges and how things have changed with Twitter and bloggers entering the fray.

    A huge amount of what’s been written about this case seem to be ignorant of what Hernandez actually wrote. This editorial zeroes in on how Hernandez defined Cox’s lack of journalistic bona fides, but it leaves out something else he said – that even if she *were* a legitimate journalist, which she clearly isn’t, she’d have no protection under Oregon’s shield law because of her actions.
