∞ Adobe to cut 750 jobs

Adobe Systems on Tuesday said it is cutting about 750 jobs, mainly in North America and Europe as part of a restructuring of the company. The company said it expects to record about $87 million to $94 million in pre-tax restructuring charges.

    Also they killed FlashPlayer for Mobiles. FlashPlayer is back to being PC software only. Going forward, the Flash authoring tool is going to be pitched primarily as a way to make mobile apps.

    I wonder if Dowdell is still at Adobe…
    His last blog entry was from June, ending with this quote: “The Flash VM performs really well on mobile chipsets and I don’t see any evidence here to support the idea that Flash is slow on smartphones and tablets”
