∞ Android 4.0 and the Galaxy Nexus

Face Unlock seems pretty cool, but it seems to take an inordinate amount of time to actually unlock. It’s one of those features that’s cool, but you probably wouldn’t use much. Google outlined some of the new features on its Website.

My understanding is that they actually added lag, to make it look like it was actually thinking. Originally, it was instantaneous, which made people feel like the face detection was faked. Of course, they could just be saying that.

Yeah, it’s “designed to be slow.”

Congratulations to Dairymple on being more indulgent to Android and Blackberry.  Apple, RIM, Android all ramp up the level of innovation, it is not just one company’s show.  Need the magnanimity when considering other systems.

I love innovation. I don’t feel RIM really has much of that these days.

I think all this is fancy bullshit.  Who cares about face detection unlock. Google get to it and make a single consistant platform..

Looks good. Admittedly though, I can’t help but compare the way this video demonstrates video calling features versus Apple’s FaceTime ads. Seems world apart. Everything about the iPhone from the OS to the ads seem like they were done by one company. With WebOS, Android and Windows Phone 7, stuff feels like its all done by a bunch of different departments.
