∞ Dell: Android disappoints

Khidr Suleman reporting on Michael Dell speaking at Dell World:

We are very aligned with Microsoft around Windows 8. You’ll hear more about Windows 8 from us and see a wide range of products released,” Dell told journalists during a Q&A at Dell World 2011 in Texas.

“Android is certainly another opportunity as well, but that market has not developed to the expectations they would have had.”

Wait, there’s actually a Dell World?

Dell World is like Macworld with a learning disability.

I thought that Dell’s comment was very funny. Android doesn’t seem to be disappointing HTC or Samsung or Amazon. I think what he should have said is that “Our crappy devices that happen to run Android” are disappointing. For their sake, I hope their “crappy devices that run Windows 8″ will do a little better.

I heard that the company that made the banners for the event messed up and called it Dull World. They were lucky, nobody noticed. ;^)

Wait, there’s actually a Dell World?

Yeah, although in practice it’s more like “Elmo’s World” from Sesame Street, where they have a lot of imaginary stuff and draw with crayons and damn near everything.

    And it has annoying hosts.
