∞ Apple's iPad beat RIM PlayBook sales in two days

It took RIM a full quarter (let’s say 90 days) to ship (not sell) 200,000 PlayBooks. In its last quarter, Apple sold 9.25 million iPads, or approximately 102,000 per day. In two days of sales the iPad beat the PlayBook.

Update: I fixed the silly calculation I made in the numbers. Still doesn’t change the end result.

Would love to know how many PlayBooks were actually sold.  Apple probably sells more tablets before breakfast than RIM does in a whole quarter.

@jdalrymple:disqus Sorry, should’ve noted that despite the mistake, the statement holds true. @7fb0ea62db94d3d7d1fb84e6d99058c2:disqus I think the iPad advantage extends far beyond marketing or hype at this point. It is priced better, costs less, has better 1st/3rd party apps and can leverage the rest of the iOS ecosystem.

That title might actually be true, just goes to show Apple’s superior marketing and media hype. Its so lopsided, and yet it would hard to describe how the iPad or iPad2 are better in ways that would lead to such a disparity in sales.
