∞ RIM starting a new streaming music service

Reuters:

BlackBerry maker Research In Motion is close to rolling out its own music streaming service that will work across its mobile devices, according to four people familiar with the plans.

RIM is in late-stage negotiations with major labels, including Vivendi SA’s Universal Music Group, Sony Corp’s Sony Music, Warner Music Group and EMI Group. The new service is expected to be announced by Labor Day in the United States, September 5.

Please stop now RIM. Your products and terrible and you screw up everything you touch. We’re embarrassed for you.

I think this is also known as “Hitting rock bottom and then started digging.”

It’s the comedy act that keeps on giving.

The smartest thing RIM could do at this point, is invest in a comedy club, because this company gets funnier & funnier as time passes! They’re going from sad to ridiculous, which is really funny!

These people can’t even do email…….

Shouldn’t they be focusing on their core business? This is a business which has said that their primary markets are businesses and governments is this something they’re wanting? I don’t think so.

Only a decade behind Apple in getting into the music biz.

    They’re catching up…

“Your products and terrible and you screw up everything you touch, not like how I screwed up this sentence, because I started spelling ‘are’ and my iPad ‘corrected’ it with ‘and’.”

Cunt! Oops I started spelling funk and my iPhone changed it, oh well it’s appropriate!

Peabrain!  No misspelling there but equally appropriate for you, a disgrace to even the Apple Fanboy set!

Hey I appreciate the thought, thanks!

I am a Blackberry user and I agree in the “too little, too late” sentiment I am reading on here regarding the launch of this music service. I will probably not use it since I can already sync all my iTunes via BB Desktop Manager without a hitch and don’t pay monthly fees, just pay for what I buy. Or if I want to dl it directly to my BB, Amazon already offers a solid music service, not itunes, but getting good.

But RIM has a huge upside in the next couple of years, QNX and running Android apps in both their phones and tablets.I have to say, QNX is a great OS that improves every day and looking forward, I really don’t see iOS or Android being quite as good. A bulletproof OS with a great interface that can also run Android apps? Sounds to good to be true, but apparently it isn’t…
