∞ HTC says relationship with Google not affected by Motorola purchase

BGR.com:

“We are supportive of Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility as this is a positive development to the Android ecosystem, which we believe is beneficial to HTC’s promotion of Android phones,” an HTC spokesperson told BGR on Monday. “The partnership between HTC and Google remains strong and will not be affected by this acquisition.”

Bullshit.

Jupp HTC, you’re even more of a bitch to Google than you were before.

Yeah, and in the past I’ve told people that I would love my then-current girlfriend forever. I’m still single and she’s married to someone else. Predicting the future of relationships is always dicey.

I’m wondering how the carriers might complicate this. Will they pressure Google to put the Google logo on hardware instead of Motorola? If one carrier gets an exclusive on a “Google phone” will other carriers retaliate by heavily promoting iPhone and Windows 7 over Android? Will Google be able to or seriously try to prevent carrier branding and software customization?
