∞ Freeverse axes Mac game support in Lion

Freeverse has announced that it’s discontinuing a number of Mac game titles because of the release of OS X Lion:

  • Burning Monkey Mahjong
  • Burning Monkey Puzzle Lab
  • Burning Monkey Solitaire
  • Enigma
  • Periscope
  • Squabble
  • ToySight
  • 3D Bridge
  • 3D Crazy 8s
  • Euchre Deluxe
  • Hearts Deluxe
  • Pitch-Setback
  • Spades Deluxe
  • CrossCards
  • X-Words Deluxe

The company is also shutting down its GameSmith service this summer.

Freeverse said it will continue to support the games for versions of OS X prior to Lion.

      Not on the desktop, but a friend of mine has one for iOS. Look for Sirrahsoft in the App Store.

    I remember when Ambrosia Software and Freeverse were my go-to places for new games. I understand everyone’s moving their energy to iOS apps: it’s a good, smart financial play. That doesn’t make the abandonment any easier.

    Not a surprise really.  Since the iPhone they haven’t given a thought about their Mac applications, and basically abandoned the platform.
