∞ Apple's new MacBook Air packaging

I am always amazed at the detail Apple puts into the simple things with its products, like packaging. But that’s the first impression we have of the product, so it does matter. With the latest MacBook Air, Apple changed from a flip lid to a box style, where the top lifts off completely. The attention to detail just with the box is great.

    This is the same packaging as the previous model.

    The original MacBook Air had the take-off lid – back in 2008.

    This one just has the exact same packaging as the previous (Oct. 2010) model. 

    I did a double take at the date of this article, because I couldn’t believe it’s just been written. Jim has been living under a rock for three years.

    Yup. MacBook Airs have always had this style packaging.

    I have the 2010 Air and it had the very same box.

    The Airs have always had box lids. The MacBooks and MBPs have flip lids.
