∞ Check your blood pressure with your iOS device

Withings on Monday announced the U.S. availability of its Connected Blood Pressure Monitor for iOS devices, including iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It costs $129.

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]The device combines a blood pressure cuff that you wrap around your arm, with an iOS app. A connecting cable attaches to the iOS device using its 30-pin dock connector. Once connected, the app launches and measures the results (systolic, diastolic, and pulse rate), which are then saved in the app.

Stats can be accessed from within the app and uploaded to a personal Web page maintained on Withings’ server. Results include dates and times, and can be synchronized to personal health record sites including Google Health and Microsoft HealthVault, to make it easier to share blood pressure readings with doctors.
