∞ PlayBook is the 'herpes of tablets'

RIM may want people to compare its PlayBook tablet to the iPad, but journalists have a less complimentary comparison for the device.

[ad#Google Adsense 300x250 in story]While I was attending WWDC last week, CNN said the PlayBook was the “herpes of tablets.” Apparently the news organization was trying to return the PlayBook to RIM and got no response.

CNN thought so little of the PlayBook that they would pull it out when really bad products were sent to them and say, “But at least it’s not as bad as the PlayBook!”

Surely even those people that gave the PlayBook some slack for not including email, calendaring and basic Internet connectivity, must be reconsidering their position.

The bright side is that people are limiting Playbook contact so the disease isn’t spreading.

How does the Playbook compare to the Xoom?
Is the Xoom the syphilis of the tablets??

Could someone elaborate on “the herpes of tablets”? Last I checked, it was easily the best 7” tablet out there and arguably the best overall tablet out there. It does do many things better than the iPad2 and allows free data sharing if you have a Blackberry, not too shabby…

I’m assuming the “herpes of tablets” comment from CNN was because the couldn’t return it. Once they “contracted” Playbook they were stuck with it.

Whether it’s the best tablet out there of any size is purely opinion. There’s no way to say one is “easily” the best. If you’re one of the dwindling number of Blackberry owners, you’ll probably like the Playbook more than others. Either way try them all and buy the one you like the best.
