The app serves as the “hub for the Galaga universe across all iOS devices,” according to Namco Bandai. Modernized remakes of all four titles in the Galaga series (Galaxian, Galaga, Gaplus and Galaga ’88) are available through in-app purchases. Galaxian is included with the download, and it’s $7.99 to collect them all, or $2.99 each for Galaga and Gaplus, $3.99 for Galaxian ’88.

The apps sport updated graphics, optimized touch-screen controls and other tweaks to suit iOS gamers, including a new “Galaga Points” system that you can use to upgrade ships. You can also collect achievement pins.

(And if you’re going to start whining about paying for the other games, stop now. $7.99 is a steal for this well-polished, official retro gaming gem.)
