∞ Beatles Anthology collections to debut exclusively on iTunes June 14

We sure have come a long way in a short period of time. iTunes went from not having any of The Beatles to having music released exclusively on the music service.

[ad#Google Adsense 300x250 in story]EMI on Tuesday said the The Beatles’ three remastered Anthology music collections will debut on June 14. Anthology, Vols. 1-3 are available for preorder on iTunes starting today.

The Anthology Box Set comes with all 155 tracks from the three volumes ($79.99) and an exclusive 23-track “Anthology Highlights” collection of standout tracks from each ($12.99). A special ‘Anthology’ video introduction and a 50-minute “Meet The Beatles” radio show are available for free streaming starting today.

The Anthology Box Set is totally remastered for digital release. According to EMI, The Beatles have now sold more than eight million songs and over 1.3 million albums on iTunes worldwide.

    Who says I can’t buy me love…  ;)

I don’t care what anyone says. The Beatles were a great band with a huge repertoire. I bought most of their vinyl when they first came out when I was in my mid-late teens. Lots of fond memories. Still remember a lot of the lyrics.

I bypassed all of the CDs, and I held out for them to arrive in iTunes. It had to happen, and this Anthology collection is going to sound great.

Sorry a rip off… Enough Apple/EMI . This is simply flogging a dead horse to death.

People keep saying things like this, and yet they continue to make money hand over fist. Prices generally set to what the market will bear. so it’s going to take a few more people thinking this way before EMI brings its prices down on Beatles works. (As someone who until recently worked in a music store, I can say we sold out of the stereo and mono box sets that were released in 2009 within days, and it wasn’t just old fogies buying them at $300 a pop.)

I’d love to know the breakdown of age groups buying the new releases via iTunes.
