∞ PayPal sues Google for stealing trade secrets

Yesterday morning, Google announced Google Wallet. By the afternoon, PayPal launched a lawsuit against the company, claiming it stole the technology.

[ad#Google Adsense 300x250 in story]I’ve seen very few lawsuits with the twists and turns that this one has and I’m sure it will only get better. It not only involves stealing technology, but trade secrets and even employees.

It goes like this. Osama Bedier worked for PayPal and was negotiating a deal with Google on behalf of his company. During those negotiations, Bedier was interviewing for a job at Google, according to Electronista.

Bedier is now the Google Wallet project lead.

As you can imagine, the negotiations ended between the two companies and then Google releases Wallet. PayPal contends that Bedier leaked confidential PayPal information to Google, allowing it to create Google Wallet.

Wow. That’s definitely something that has the appearance of ethical issues all over it.

PayPal certainly has the funds to pick a fight with Google.
Oh this is going to be interesting.

I’m generally kinda averse to many of these lawsuits, but this smells real bad… good luck PayPal, no mercy!
