The white iPhone 4 has been promised by Apple for almost a year — today the announcement of its officially release arrived.
Apple said the white iPhone 4 would be available tomorrow at Apple’s retail stores, AT&T and Verizon Wireless stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. The white iPhone 4 will be available for $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model with a new two year agreement.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]The white iPhone has been spotted over the past few days in Europe, where it apparently went on sale a bit earlier than expected. Some customers in the UK and Belgium where able to get their hands on the devices, according to Mac Rumors.
“The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it’s beautiful,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we’ve worked to get every detail right.”
Apple has never given a reason for the delay of the white iPhone 4, other than it has “proven more challenging to manufacture than expected.” Originally scheduled to be released shortly after the black iPhone, the white iPhone 4 was delayed in late July until later in 2010, and again in October until spring 2011.

THE TRUTH: Apple made the white iPhone 4 “rare” to increase demand. The white iPhone 4 has been sitting in the warehouses for a year. Apple only releases it now halfway through the model’s one-year lifespan to gain more consumers. So when the iPhone 5 releases in June/July this year, those patient people who waited a year for this white iPhone 4 are screwed with a now obsolete model. The same thing will happen to Verizon customers who just bought an iPhone 4. I love you Apple, but this is just wrong!
