∞ Report: iPhone 5 to ship in September

The next major release of the Apple’s popular iPhone will ship to customers in September, according to a report on Wednesday.

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Citing three unnamed sources with “direct knowledge of the company’s supply chain,” Reuters said production of the iPhone 5 will start in July or August. The iPhone 5 would then ship to customers in September.

The Loop first reported that Apple would not release any hardware at its Worldwide Developer Conference in June.

The Loop also squashed more iPhone 5 rumors after reports began to surface that Apple would then hold a special event later in June to introduce the device.

  • It’s not a “report”, it’s a rumor from “three people with direct knowledge of the company’s supply chain”…

  • To me, all this says is that no one has any idea when it’s coming, it’s a classic dilution tactic where you muddy the waters so that no one source or person acts as an oracle and all reports seem to contradict each other

  • You guys are going to feel really stupid when the iPhone comes out in June

    • September makes far more sense than June. With CDMA version released in Feb, white version later in April, it just does not make sense to move to a new generation of product immediately. No sense. Furthermore, while Apple insists that they were able to skirt around supply issues in Japan, something has to give. That might be iPhone 5.
