∞ GarageBand 6.0.2 supports GarageBand for iPad projects

Apple on Thursday released an update to GarageBand, its music making software for Mac that’s included with iLife ’11. It corrects a problem that The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple first identified on March 10th.

[ad#Google Adsense 300x250 in story]GarageBand 6.0.2 makes fixes that improve overall stability and correct minor issues, according to Apple, but one change was worth breaking out – it now supports the ability to open projects imported from GarageBand for iPad.

The new release, GarageBand 6.0.2, can be downloaded either from Apple’s Web site or from the Software Update system preference.

GarageBand for iPad was released in early March along with iMovie for iPad – Steve Jobs demoed both of them during the introduction of the iPad 2 (though GarageBand works with first-generation iPads too).

Apple recommends that all iLife ’11 users install the new version.

    Question about GarageBand and iPad

    (and yes, answer may already be out there, no idea if so – I did look a little, but not been on a ‘Major Quest’ in the effort – so if any of you know, appreciate your help)
    .

    The Piano Keyboard we saw in GarageBand as it was demo’d on the iPad at the recent Hoop-d-doo

    It looked a little ‘small’ to me – not the actual size of a ‘real keyboard’ we have on a ‘real piano’, yes ?

    Ok, is it ‘adjustable’ ?

    And, in a related matter – the iPad Typewriter Keyboard – is it ‘adjustable’ too ?

    Seems could easily be done, yes ? (just squeeze and pinch, presto magic size adjust)

    Would be great for ol’ guys like me with big knobby fingers

    And greater for little kids just starting out with their tiny little fingers

    One size won’t fit all, and seems the iPad should be able to accommodate, yes ?

    The typewriter keyboard is not adjustable. The keyboard in GarageBand moves left and right by octaves.

      Perhaps you, or someone else, could pursue this with Apple ?

      Imagine any ‘technical matters’ could be easily solved
      (simple software ‘wiggle’ yes, even by a 3rd Party?)

      And half in awe it wasn’t part of the plan from the git go

        BC, I was wrong on one thing. You can make the keyboard keys larger in GarageBand — I didn’t think you could.
