∞ Train wins first ever Grammy for iTunes original content

Train on Sunday made history for Apple as the band accepted a Grammy award for “Hey, Soul Sister.”

[ad#Google Adsense 300x250 in story]The song was recorded exclusively for Apple’s iTunes Session EP and marks the first time that any iTunes original content won a Grammy. The song won the award for “Best Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.”

“Hey, Soul Sister” has been certified five times Platinum and is the most downloaded song in Columbia Records history. The song has downloaded more than 5 million times.

    Interesting how things have changed. I understand that Indie bands also won a lot of awards. In the meantime Sony is pondering leaving iTunes.
