Sony will launch apps for the two most popular mobile platforms, iOS and Android, in 2011, according to a new report. There are a couple of gotchas though. First, the apps won’t be available in the U.S. at launch and you won’t be able to play games with the apps (in case you were hoping for that).
With the 1.0 versions, users will be able to monitor their PlayStation Network trophies as well as friends’ games and online statuses. The apps will also deliver gaming news and PlayStation announcements, and it will let users share news or interesting product details via Twitter, Facebook and email.

I would just like an app that allows me to program/design a remote control for the Playstation 3. Or just is a remote control for it. What I’ve found uses dongles and such, but surely the bluetooth in the iPad and the bluetooth in the PS3 would be able to hook up like Sony’s blu-ray player remote does?
