∞ 85 percent of consumers prefer iPad over Galaxy Tab

There is no doubt competition in the tablet market is going to explode, but right now, consumers overwhelmingly chose the iPad over Samsung’s Galaxy Tab in a consumer survey.

[ad#Google Adsense 300x250 in story]According to the survey (which used an incredibly small number of people — 65) conducted by Piper Jaffray Senior Research Analyst, Gene Munster, 85 percent of those surveyed preferred the iPad. That leaves 15 percent of those surveyed choosing the Galaxy Tab.

What may be more shocking to iPad competitors is the perceived value of the products. The Galaxy Tab costs $599 for a model with data connectivity like the iPad 3G, which sells for $629.

The perceived value of the iPad 3G among respondents was $417 or $212 below the retail price. The perceived value of the Galaxy Tab was $283 or $316 below its retail price.

The iPad is priced $30 higher than the Galaxy Tab, but it has a perceived value of $134 higher than its competitor.

You mean 15 people out of 100 actually LIKE the Galaxy Tab? I guess you can always find suckers!

  • Master

its pathetic that you guys would report positively on such a survey, clearly this is an apple fan site, and the survey conductors failed stats class, but this is just garbage

Does the report describe how many of those surveyed had actually tested both products personally?

@Master: How would you have described this survey as favorable to Samsung?

Not a surprise! It is a better product in general. Plus, Samsung and everyone else are late to the party, since they waited for Apple so they could copy. To make my point…in traveling in and out of NYC today I saw about 15 people with iPads…not a single person with any other type.

Yes well this is an apple fan sight so there isn’t going to be anything bad about apple’s stupid products here is there? I personally prefer the Galaxy tab.
