∞ The Beatles sell 2 million songs, 450,000 albums in one week

The Beatles have been on iTunes for a week now and according to record company EMI and Apple, sales have gone pretty well so far.

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]After one week, The Beatles sold 2 million individual songs and 450,000 albums. According to a report on Reuters, “Abbey Road” was the top selling U.S. album, coming in at No. 6 on the iTunes charts. The box set was at No. 10 after one week of sales.

The report says the top selling song for The Beatles was “Here Comes the Sun.”

Apple confirmed for The Loop last week that it has an exclusive with the band on iTunes until sometime in 2011. The company would not be more specific on when the exclusive ends.

I would have been hard pressed to pick a top song from The Beatles catalog, but “Here Comes the Sun” is certainly a classic.
