∞ Apple delays white iPhone 4 until Spring 2011

Apple on Wednesday confirmed that the white iPhone has been delayed again. The most recent delay marks the third time the device’s release has been postponed.

[ad#Google Adsense 300x250 in story]“We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone yet again, but we’ve decided to delay its release until this Spring,” an Apple spokesperson told The Loop.

Apple first delayed the white iPhone 4 model until the second half of July, just a short time after the release of the black iPhone. At the time, Apple said the white model has “proven more challenging to manufacture than expected.”

In late July, the company delayed shipments of the white iPhone until “later this year.”

Apple provided no details explaining why the white iPhone 4 has not made it to market yet.

    Though I may very well buy one when they finally appear, I’m at least interested in exactly why they’ve been delayed–the technical reasons.

    Releasing the iphone 5 so quickly will not be good for Apple.

      Wrong. It’s totally the right thing to do, and will most likely boom iPhone sales.

      Think of how many people who haven’t yet bought an iPhone 4 because of the various controversies surrounding it, but who basically really wanted one. And then realize that Apple will most likely not only handle those situations but leapfrog the competition with even more cool features on a new model. And then realize that they will most likely have solved whatever supply line bottlenecks which prevented a good number of sales which would have happened given an adequate supply of phones.

      An iPhone 5 in the spring or summer will lift iPhone sales into a whole new high range.
