∞ Gameloft: 20 million App Store games sold, and counting

Gameloft announced Monday that it has sold more than 20 million games on the App Store since the store opened. The company counts 47 games released since the beginning of the year alone.

It’s worth noting that Gameloft’s figure is for 20 million games sold, rather than downloaded – Gameloft president Michel Guillemot was quick to point out in a statement announcing the milestone that that figure is for paid downloads. He said the first half of 201 was “a new step” for Gameloft on the App Store. “The launch of the iPad and iPhone 4 has opened new horizons for developers and allowed us once again to transform our consumers gaming experience,” said Guillemot.

Since 2008 Gameloft has released 100 games. Since the beginning of 2010, Gameloft’s roster has added 18 new iPhone games and 29 games for the iPad. The company has also revealed plans for 15 more games by the end of the year, including NFL 2011 HD, Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles HD, Dungeon Hunter 2 and more.
