∞ Dish Network bringing TV to the iPad

We all know that the iPad is the perfect platform for media consumption and now satellite provider Dish Network is about to put that to the test.

In the next few months Dish will provide its customers with the ability to turn their mobile devices into portable televisions, according to a report on WSJ.

The report says that customers will connect to their home using a set-top box modified with technology from Slingbox, which is owned by Echostar, Dish’s sister company. Another option for customers would be to buy a higher-end box from Dish with the technology built-in.

There are some conflicts that could arise if someone is watching TV at home and over the Internet. For now it looks like the home TV viewer will win out.

I purchased the Sling Adapter with DISH Network and have been pleasantly surprised! It was only $99 through DISH too. Not only can I set up and manage DVR recordings, but I can watch live and recorded TV right with my phone. It’s been really cool! I’ve been working and subscribing with DISH Network for quite some time now, and I honestly recommend this great product to everyone! Especially those who never want to miss any of their shows again! It’s awesome!
