∞ Apple can't keep up with iPhone 4 demand

With reports of antenna problems over the last few weeks, you might think that Apple’s new iPhone 4 is sitting on store shelfs, but that’s not the case. The truth is, Apple can’t keep up with demand for the device.

“The demand for iPhone 4 is absolutely stunning,” said Apple COO, Tim Cook, during the company’s earnings conference call. “We are selling every unit we can make.”

Cook went on to say that Apple is working very hard to bring the supply and demand curves in line, but they have no idea when that happen.

Apple said on Tuesday that it sold 8.4 million iPhones in its fiscal third quarter, representing a 61 percent gain over last year’s third quarter.

Steve Jobs must be thinking, “Thank god for Antennagate. It’s almost reduced demand to a point where me can meet it.”

There’s been overwhelming demand in the Netherlands for iPhone 4. Took me over 6 hours yesterday to get 2 units reserved. I’ll replace my 3G, my wife will dump her Nokia.
While iPhone 4 goes on sale officially on the 31st of July here, they say it might take up to 8 weeks (!) to get them delivered. I can’t wait till mine gets here…

The only thing Antennagate reduced my demand for is blogs.
