Rupert Murdoch on Google and larger iPads By Jim DalrympleMarch 18, 2010, 6:38 am PT
I have a lot of respect for Rupert Murdoch. He’s a tough business man, a ruthless negotiator, and knows what he wants. I can’t imagine going up against him and luckily, I don’t have to. In a recent interview, Murdoch discusses Google and how the iPad is changing modern media delivery. It’s interesting to hear his side of things.
Rupert loves iPad, hates Google..thinks larger iPads are coming? [9 to 5 Mac]

I’m afraid I disagree on Rupert. It’s not that he’s powerful, or that he owns so many properties. It’s the cynical dumbing-down of news that occurs when he takes over any given publication/station/network. He’s almost as bad as Gannett. Log ago when I was in journalism school we thought of him as a coming plague that would turn US news organizations into sources of right wing screeds against reason. And we were pretty much right. (Not that being on the right is necessarily against reason, mind you, but his style is just so.)
Watch the future train wreck knows as the Wall Street Journlal as it descends into not only it’s long-standing editorial opinions becoming platforms for the right, but the editorial content as well.
As a business man, I’m sure Rupert is a shining example. As a media owner, he is quite lacking in integrity. And a fish rots from the head back.
I bet he's a scary guy to go up against.
Oh yeah, his reputation for not forgetting minor offenses is legendary.
