∞ Apple releases Safari 4.0.5

Apple on Thursday released an update for its Web browser, bringing the current version of Safari to 4.0.5.

According to notes provided with the update the new version includes performance improvements for Top Sites; stability improvements for 3rd-party plug-ins; and stability improvements for websites with online forms and Scalable Vector Graphics.

The update also fixes an issue that prevented Safari from changing settings on some Linksys routers and an issue that prevented some iWork.com users from commenting on documents.

Safari 4.0.5 can be downloaded from Apple’s Web site or the software update mechanism in Mac OS X. Apple also posted details on security changes that were made in the update.

I use various browsers for various tasks, and still am amazed just how darned fast Safari is compared to the others.
