There is a drop shadow filter available from the support forums. Works pretty well for me.

I tried Pixelmator a few months ago, and while the interface was fairly nice, I was surprised that adding a drop shadow to a picture in a composition was surprisingly hard to do (I would have thought that's a pretty common operation out there). Has that changed at all?

It's nice having an imaging editing app that doesn't take forever to load, that doesn't eat up my valuable cycles, and that doesn't cost a fortune.

Indeed. For my daily use, Pixelmator is my go-to app. I've been using it for a bit over a year, I think, and it does everything I need.

<3 Pixelmator. It hasn't replaced photoshop for me just yet, but it's certainly getting more and more daily use from me.
