Facebook on Wednesday released an update for its iPhone app, adding one of the most requested new features — push notifications.
Push notifications will allow Facebook to alert users when new messages are posted to their Facebook account. The update also allows users to sync their Facebook friends with the address book.
Facebook released a major update for its iPhone app last summer adding many new features like Events, Notes, Pages, Easier photo tagging and the ability to Like posts. The one missing feature, until now, was push.
Facebook is available for free from the App Store [iTunes Link].
