I'm waiting for Gulftown to appraise what's up.

Peter, I'm glad you called out the Mac Pro's drive bays. After enduring the messy cable tangle and unelegant "click" of various PC towers, the Mac Pro is an altogether superior experience. Even a shaky-hands like myself found it really easy to install new drives in the bays. As long as you know how to operate a screwdriver and use a reasonable degree of force to remove and re-insert the drive sleds, you're in for a treat!

According to Macworld, the quad-core iMac is faster than the eight-core Mac Pro.

Which really demonstrates nothing more than how badly managed Speedmark 6. If you look at the parameters they use, they're not even relevant to the real-world anymore. People buying Mac Pros are not paying that kind of money to import 25 MP3s, play with a 50MB Photoshop file, or import 2 minutes of video.

If you're using an a app that can actually leverage all 8 cores (or up to 16 if can take advantage of hyperthreading) the 8-core Mac Pro will blow everything else away.

How about a benchmark where they're manipulating an 8GB Photoshop file while exporting a 1080p video at the same time? That's what people with this metal are doing.
