Apple releases Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 1

Apple on Thursday released an update for Java that is available for immediate download.
According to notes provided with the update, Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 1 delivers improved compatibility, security, and reliability by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_17. Apple recommends in the update notes to relaunch any web browsers and Java applications after installing the update.
