Boss posts virtual guitar pedalboard

By Jim DalrympleNovember 25, 2009, 12:11 pm PT

Guitar players know that Boss has made some of the most classic pedals in history. Now you can try out some of those pedals online.

The Boss Web site has a virtual pedalboard that lets you try out different combinations of pedals in a variety of genres. You can choose from Rock, Blues, Metal, Country, Acoustic, Jazz, Funk, Twin Pedals and Bass Pedals.

Each genre you choose comes with its own riff and lead or rhythm setting. You can also choose “Alternate Setups” which virtually switches out one of the pedals. For example, in the Blues setup, you can switch the Blues Driver pedal for either the Fender ‘59 Bassman or the Fender ‘65 Deluxe Reverb.

You can turn the pedals on and off by clicking on them, so you can get a good idea of how the tone changes with each one.

Even though I have several of the pedals, I want them all.
