Apple on Monday announced it will have a one-day shopping event on November 27, the day after Thanksgiving.
The event promises “dozens of great iPod, iPhone, and Mac gift ideas — all with free shipping.” According to the notice on the Web site, the event is for the online store only and makes no mention of the company’s retail stores.

Of course, the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S. is known as Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year. Typically retailers will hold their best deals for Black Friday in hopes of attracting shoppers on that day.

I wonder if Apple plans anything like this in Canada.
As an aside, I get that you linked to TUAW, but a link to the announcement would have been great. I found it surprising that a story on Apple with four links would not have a single one pointing at apple.com.
Update: The promotion seems to apply to the Canadian store, too.
Yes, the promotion also applies to Canada.

You’re right about the link Steven. The TUAW link wasn’t meant to be the link to the announcement — just a complete oversight on my part.
Thanks Jim. Sorry if I came across harsh there, I didn’t mean to, but it does read a little harsh. Like I’m being intentionally passive-aggressive-assholish over it. IT WAS UNINTENTIONAL, I ASSURE YOU!
