Universal Audio plug-ins updated with new EQ

By Jim DalrympleOctober 28, 2009, 6:22 pm PT

Universal Audio on Wednesday released version 5.5 of its plug-in suite, adding a new EQ and fixing several issues with the older version.

The UAD 5.5 software includes the UAD Trident A-Range Classic Console EQ, a new plug-in for this release. The A-Range is credited with some of Rock’s truly classic albums like David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Lou Reed’s Transformer and Queen’s Sheer Heart Attack, among others.

With version 5.5, the EMT 250 Reverb now includes a Noise parameter that optionally eliminates modeled noise floor. The Wet/Dry slider mouse tracking has also been improved. Output dB labels for controls view and automation have been added to the 1176LN compressor and the Mellowmuse ATA plug-in has been updated to version 1.4.

A number of fixes are also included with the new version of the software. A complete list of changes and a link to download the software are available from the Universal Audio Web site.
