∞ i.Tech debuts solar-powered Bluetooth headset

Hong Kong-based i.Tech Dynamic on Tuesday introduced the SolarVoice 908, a new Bluetooth headset compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch which derives its power not from an AC wall adapter but from the sun. It costs about $75.

solarvoiceThe device features Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) Bluetooth profile support and background noise reduction that uses Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to reduce background noise and distortion. The SolarVoice 908 supports Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, multipoint technology which lets it connect simultaneously to two Bluetooth devices, charging status indicators, volume adjust, call transfer and call reject button.

The SolarVoice 908 is held into your ear canal using an earbud, though an ear hook is also included. An internal lithium-ion battery holds up to five hours of charge for talk time and up to 140 hours of standby time without sunlight. It can be charged using A/C power or through an available USB port (both a travel adapter and cable are included), so you can charge it up if you’re not in direct sunlight.
