Toontrack Music on Tuesday announced two new expansion packs for its flagship drum sampler, Superior Drummer 2.0.
The Custom and Vintage expansion packs were originally released separately for the first version of Superior Drummer, but have now been combined for the newer version. The collection includes stick and brush recordings of a unique collection of drums and cymbals, according to the company.
Custom and Vintage SDX is played by Chris Whitten, who played on “What I Am” by Edie Brickell and The New Bohemians, “The Whole Of The Moon” by The Waterboys, and Paul McCartney’s “Flowers In The Dirt” album.
The collection is produced by Grammy Award winning engineer Peter Henderson, who worked on Supertramp’s “Breakfast in America.” Henderson has also worked with Paul McCartney, Rush, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, Tina Turner and Ringo Starr.
Toontrack said the Custom and Vintage SDX will be available for $179 at the end of October.
