Whoopi, seriously, do you need the money that bad? You must believe that the iPhone is the better product, right? You bought at least two.
I think we’re all used to seeing celebrities in commercials talking up the latest products that they probably don’t use. We take it all with a grain of salt.

But it’s kind of exciting to see celebs endorse a product that they readily admit they use. Take the demos during Steve Jobs’ keynote where John Mayer comes up and shows off GarageBand. He says he uses it all the time and from the way he’s able to get around the app, that’s probably true.
However, some celebs apparently don’t care about that. Maybe The View isn’t paying as much as it used to.
Whatever it is, Whoopi is in a commercial plugging the HTC. She was spotted in line by iPhonity.com buying one of the original iPhones, which was a while ago, so maybe she changed her mind about Apple. Or maybe not.
A week before the HTC commercial came out she was photographed by Contactmusic.com coming out of the SoHo Apple Store with another iPhone. Maybe it was a gift, but Whoopi seems to have better taste than that.
C’mon, money isn’t everything. If you don’t like the iPhone and decided to go with the HTC, go for it, but you’ll be back.

Just another celeb for sale… Nothing to see here. It’s not like we’re talking about someone with actual *talent*.
well, let’s remember that this is a “comedian” who wears glasses on her nose that are completely non-functional, that’s her “hook.”
So if she’s not concerned with function…the HTC is just fine.
Nice original ad BTW
These are actors by profession. Actors. Don’t worry about it.
The use of celebrity endorsements is of questionable value in advertising. The difference with the celebrities in the Apple ads is that they’re playing their respective roles in the skits.
The messages of these HTC ads is relatively unspecific compared to the relatively unambiguous respective messages of the Apple ads which generally deliver humorous satirical scenarios which strike chords in viewers, a number of whom respond by more closely checking out the product.
Apple must be determining some such results or they wouldn’t have continued the “Get a Mac” series for so long.
what’s wrong with an actor/actress getting paid to act?
Apparently Cappy has never heard of “The Color Purple”. Idiot.
and it couldn’t have been a gift for someone else because…….. ???
Pay money for a phone, or get paid to hold one?.. I imagine it’s good work if you can get it.
But poor Phil Jackson looks like he’s in pain just standing there..
“But poor Phil Jackson looks like he’s in pain just standing there..”
That’s who that was! . . .Chicago Bulls. . . Where’s Mike? Underwear commericals. . . But who’s the other guy? Funny how fame fades. . Whoopi’s a bit past her prime, too.
The main thing with advertising is staying power. Ask the Geico gecko. Ask those Free Credit Report losers. Without a good sales, those TV ads are gonna seriously eat into profits.
Who is the big guy in the middle? I don’t recall seeing him before?? Is he also an actor?
Please if anybody knows, let me know.
Thanks
Carrie
