Native Instruments (NI) on Tuesday released a new software instrument called Scarbee Pre-bass, the first release in a partnership between NI and Thomas Hansen Skarbye.
Scarbee Pre-bass is a rendition of the Fender Precision bass. The new instrument is powered by Native Instruments’ Kontakt engine and is playable using the Kontakt Player or the Kontakt 3 sampler.
According to NI, the instrument delivers the full sonic spectrum of the Fender Precision bass, making it suitable for pop, rock, hip-hop, jazz, funk and other styles. All four strings of the original instrument have been expertly sampled in nine velocities, resulting in over 4,000 individual studio-grade samples. The sample material was recorded through a DI for maximum sonic flexibility, using round-wound strings, the company said.
Scarbee Pre-bass is available for download and costs $89.
