Planet Waves releases Chordmaster LE and Scale Wizard LE

Planet Waves on Monday announced free “lite” versions of its music apps for the iPhone and iPod touch.
The company now offers Chordmaster LE and Scale Wizard LE, in addition to the full versions on the App Store. The free versions do offer a lot of functionality and look great for users that want to get a feel for the apps or perhaps don’t have a need for all the features of the paid versions.
Chordmaster LE will allow users to view each chord in the first position only, while the full version offers over 7,800 guitar chords. The paid version also gives you the option to display the chord anywhere on the virtual fretboard.
Scale Wizard LE provides four of the most used scales: major pentatonic, minor pentatonic, major, and minor in all neck positions. The full version of the app gives users over 10,000 scale patterns.

Planet Waves says the apps won’t be available until September, but Chordmaster LE is already available for download.
